Stories of our Dental Sedation Patients
AJ:
AJ had two broken down teeth that she had lived with for years. She needed two crowns and had procrastinated due to her fear of dentistry. Her fear came from a dentist slapping her when she was a child. She finally gave Dr. Rohwer a chance to fix these two teeth under sedation. She had no memory of the appointment and was thrilled to have her teeth fixed. She told Dr. Rohwer, “Whatever that little pill was, it was the best medicine I ever took.”
John:
John has a severe gag reflex. It’s so bad that he even gags every time he brushes his own teeth. He had a cavity on his very back tooth in the lower right side of his mouth and needed a filling to save the tooth. It is impossible to work on this tooth on him without sedation. With sedation, he didn’t gag once, and he doesn’t even remember the appointment. And his tooth will be in good shape for years to come.
Bonnie:
Bonnie has been afraid of the dentist after she lost multiple front teeth from a traumatic accident. She had a bridge placed after the accident, but it was a bad experience. She came to us after years of neglect because her bridge broke. Through a couple sedation appointments, Dr. Rohwer fixed her bridge, did several fillings, another crown, and a deep cleaning. She doesn’t remember much of the appointment and was happy with her experience. How happy? Well shortly afterwards, she was stopped in public by a stranger and told that she had a very beautiful smile. She called Dr. Rohwer to let him know.
